This message continues the Hey Jude series by exploring Jude’s warning about the dangers of claiming to follow Jesus without allowing that faith to transform the way we live. Writing out of love and concern for fellow believers, Jude confronts the influence of people within the early church who had begun treating God’s grace as permission to live however they pleased. Through examples from the history of Israel, rebellious angels, and the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Jude illustrates the consequences of turning away from God’s ways and becoming comfortable with sin. His words remind us that following Jesus is more than simply believing in Him; it requires surrendering to Him as Lord and allowing our faith to shape our choices, attitudes, and actions. While salvation is a gift we could never earn, genuine gratitude for God’s grace should inspire us to live in a way that honors Him.

This message challenges us to examine our own lives and ask whether our everyday behaviors reflect the faith we claim to have. Just as we can become comfortable with familiar habits or situations, we can gradually become comfortable with sin until we no longer recognize its dangers. Whether through unforgiveness, selfishness, gossip, or other behaviors that contradict God's teachings, what we repeatedly excuse can eventually become normal. Rather than encouraging judgment or self-righteousness, this message calls us to approach our shortcomings with humility, recognizing that we all need God's grace. Ultimately, this message reminds us that the more comfortable we become with sin, the more common it becomes in our lives. By remaining aware of its destructive nature and responding to God's love with gratitude and obedience, we can pursue lives that genuinely reflect our commitment to knowing and following Jesus.
