Envy & Jealousy
Envy and jealousy are closely related sins of the heart, but they flow from different fears and desires. Envy resents what others have and compares our lives to theirs, quietly whispering that God has withheld something from us. Jealousy fears losing what we already have and often shows up as insecurity, possessiveness, or control. Both distort how we see God, ourselves, and others, and both quietly steal joy, gratitude, and peace.
Jesus invites us into a different way of living—one marked by trust rather than comparison and contentment rather than fear. Healing from envy and jealousy begins by honestly naming these desires before God and choosing repentance over resentment or control. As we grow through Scripture, prayer, and Spirit-led formation, God reshapes our hearts to rest in His provision and care. Over time, envy gives way to gratitude and celebration, and jealousy is replaced by trust and freedom rooted in God’s faithfulness.
