Peace of Mind Message Series - Every Sunday in April

Untie The Donkey | Palm Sunday

This message explores Palm Sunday by unpacking the triumphal entry of Jesus and revealing that while the crowd believed they were celebrating a political or military victory, they misunderstood the true purpose of His arrival. Rooted in historical and cultural context, the message explains how palm branches symbolized victory and freedom, leading the people to expect Jesus to overthrow Roman oppression. However, Jesus intentionally entered on a donkey—signifying humility, not conquest—fulfilling prophecy while pointing to a deeper, spiritual victory. Rather than rescuing them from their circumstances, Jesus came to offer salvation for their souls as the true Passover Lamb.

This message then challenges us to examine our own expectations of God, recognizing that He often works in ways we don’t anticipate or prefer. Just as the crowd struggled to understand Jesus’ mission, we can become frustrated when God doesn’t answer prayers the way we want. Yet, the message encourages us to trust that God is not withholding good from us but providing what we truly need—often shaping our character more than changing our circumstances. By embracing faith even when outcomes feel unclear or disappointing, we learn to trust God’s plan, finding hope in His unexpected ways of bringing victory and freedom into our lives.
