The counselors participating in this event are licensed professionals with experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. They bring both professional expertise and compassionate care, offering guidance you can trust in a safe and respectful environment.

Their goal is not to judge, but to help—providing clarity, wisdom, and practical next steps.

Dr. Scott Smith
Scott serves as the Lead Pastor here at Sonrise Church. He holds a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling degree from the Liberty University Graduate School of Counseling. He also holds the Doctor of Ministry degree from the Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. He has served in pastoral ministry for several decades, as well as several Adjunct Professor stints at different Christian colleges.

Abrianna Gift
Abrianna is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Counseling and Biblical Studies from San Diego Christian College, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University. She has experience providing crisis counseling, individual and family therapy, and helping connect individuals with ongoing counseling resources and support.

Dr. Jake Jordan, PsyD.
Dr. Jacob Jordan is a Clinical Psychologist, Navy veteran, and former pastor who began his counseling career in 2010. He currently serves at the Naval Medical Center San Diego as the clinical director of the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP), the largest substance abuse treatment facility in the Department of Defense. Dr. Jordan brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, military experience, and pastoral care to his leadership and therapeutic work. He has been married for over 20 years and is the proud father of three children.
