Exploitation & Injustice
Exploitation and injustice show up when people are treated as means to an end instead of human beings made in God’s image. This can look like taking advantage of others’ vulnerability, ignoring the needs of the oppressed, or using power for personal gain at someone else’s expense. Whether it’s in work, relationships, or community, these actions leave deep wounds — both for those affected and for the hearts of those who participate or remain silent.
Spiritually, exploitation and injustice disrupt the way God intends community to function — with compassion, fairness, and respect for every person’s dignity. Instead of reflecting God’s love and justice, we can fall into patterns that harm, neglect, or ignore the suffering of others. But the good news of the gospel calls us to a different way: to walk in justice, love mercy, and seek restoration for all people. Jesus’ life and teaching remind us that God cares deeply about how we treat one another and invites us into a life shaped by His compassion and justice.
