SEPERATION FROM GOD

Sins of Commission

Some sins are about what we do — when choices, actions, or attitudes take us away from the life God intends for us. Sins of commission can show up as defiance, bending truth to fit our preferences, pushing back against God’s guidance, or explaining away our actions instead of facing them honestly. These patterns don’t just affect behavior — they shape how we see God, others, and ourselves. It’s possible to feel strong, justified, or even in control in the moment, yet find that these ways of acting leave you spiritually dry, relationally strained, and wondering if life could feel different.

Spiritually, sins of commission reveal deeper heart struggles — places where fear, pride, confusion, or self-protection guide our choices more than God’s wisdom and love. Yet the gospel doesn’t leave us stuck in our mistakes or defenses. Through Jesus’ life and teaching, we’re invited into honesty, grace, and freedom — a way of living where our actions increasingly reflect God’s character instead of our own broken instincts. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own — Jesus walks with you through honest acknowledgment and transformation by His Spirit.

— ROMANS 1:18

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

— ISAIAH 53:6

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

— HEBREWS 10:26
