This message reflects on John 7:1–9, where Jesus’ brothers urged him to go to Judea and display his miracles openly so that more people might believe. At this point, even his brothers struggled with unbelief, pushing him to act according to their expectations rather than God’s timing. Jesus refused, saying, “My time has not yet come,” highlighting how God’s plans unfold differently than human desires. Connecting this with our own frustration when God doesn’t move as quickly or in the way we hope, reminding us that faith is not about manipulating God’s timing but trusting his wisdom and sovereignty. Like Jesus, we are called to rest in God’s calendar rather than our clock, knowing that his delays are not punishment but preparation.

Practically, the message gives three responses when God doesn’t work on our timeline: work, wait, and worship. Instead of worrying—an instinct that drains energy and blinds us to present opportunities—we are called to do the work in front of us, trust God in the waiting room, and worship by remembering his past faithfulness. Waiting seasons stretch our prayer life and grow our trust muscles, while worship refocuses us on God’s goodness and builds confidence in what he can do. Just as the Jewish people built booths to remember God’s provision in the wilderness, we too can mark God’s faithfulness in our lives. The central takeaway is that God always knows better; while we may look at the clock, God sees the whole calendar, and in every season, he is working for our good and teaching us to rely fully on him
